Akelius owns, manages and renovates properties with 45 000 residential apartments in metropolitan cities in Sweden, Germany, Canada, England, USA, France and Denmark.
Our goal is to provide an excellent customer service and better living by renovating apartments which facilitates further growth.

our history

In 1994, Roger Akelius purchased the first property in Gothenburg, Sweden, and has since grown the portfolio in Sweden.
The company expanded operations to Germany in 2006 and Canada and England in 2011. The first properties in France were purchased in 2014.
We entered the market in the United States in 2015 and purchased properties in New York, Boston and Washington. 
In 2016 we entered Denmark and purchased our first properties in Copenhagen.

Akelius University

A broad education combined with specialist skills leads to better decisions on all levels in the organization.
The education program starts with an introduction session where you will meet colleagues from other offices and countries.
You will learn everything about your role and position through e-learning, seminars and learning by doing.
You will also have the opportunity to obtain a master degree at Akelius University.
Beside a deep understanding of real estate business you will also take courses in leadership and cultural awareness.
The education will take place in different countries, Germany, Sweden, US.

asset manager

The Asset Manager is responsible for financially optimizing the portfolio, identifying and realizing the potential in the properties and reporting.  Asset Manager also manages a team which consists of Property Manager, Leasing Manger and Construction Manager.

property manager

Property Manager is the main point of contact focused on the properties and maintaining positive relations with all stakeholders. Property Manager is also responsible for day-today operations of the portfolio.

construction manager

The Construction Manager is responsible for the supervision of construction projects. The tasks range from tendering, contracting and monitoring of apartment and property upgrades.

leasing manager

The Leasing Manager develops and implement leasing strategies, publish ads on its homepage and portals, organize viewings and complete leasing contracts.

transaction and valuation

The main task of a transaction and valuation manager is to control the buying process.

Julia Reif, business developer

I started my career within Akelius as a Brainee, the trainee program.
My financial background gave me an extensive  understanding of numbers and economics in general.
Starting with leasing and property as well as asset management in Berlin I got to know the core business of Akelius.
Later on I got an insight in our key figures during the controlling period in Stockholm and transactions in Toronto.
This helps me today at my job as business developer in Hamburg.

Eric Hansson, head of Stockholm

I am happy that I chose Akelius Brainee Program.
I started in 2012 and have since then been working with leasing, management, transactions and business assessment.
I speak German fluently and have been working at our offices in London and Berlin. I was given great responsibility within different areas.
It was a great way to learn and a possibility to influence the work within the company.
Today I work as an city manager in Stockholm.

Akelius promotes job rotation. 
Akelius encourages internal promotion. 
I am the living example of that.  I truly appreciate the opportunities that Akelius has been giving me.
I started with Akelius in 2013 as Head of Finance in Canada.
A year later, I was promoted to Country Manager, Canada. 
Now I am in my third mission as Head of North America from January 2018.  
I will be actively involved with implementation of projects and processes as well as helping and guiding city managers.  
I have learned a lot so far and will continue to do so.

Pål Ahlsén, ceo Akelius group

I am CEO of Akelius. I started within Akelius in 2004.
My first task was to sell our own bonds via meetings and telephone sales. I moved on to be an analyst preparing a lot of basis for business.
Akelius started in Germany in 2006 and I was one of the first to move there. Soon I became the CEO of Akelius Germany. In 2010 I moved on to be CEO for the whole group.
My mission is to double the equity in seven years.
